My mission is to lead an adventurous and dynamic life with my rescued canine companion, Chiva, and to give back to animals and the environment.
I am a 26 year old, Seattle resident that is ditching my job and belongings to travel the world with my dog, Chiva, by way of a bicycle/trailer contraption. Not only will this enable Chiva and me to have an exhilarating lifestyle, but more importantly I will use the trek to help canines and the environment.
Here is what I plan to do to help:
Raise funds for two effective organizations: The Humane Society (to confront
animal cruelty) and the Sierra Club (to protect our fragile environment).
Encourage and motivate others to have no fear and to go after their biggest dreams.
Teach and promote responsible canine companionship and environmental
stewardship practices.
The first stage of the trek is to bike to and to climb all 48 state high elevation points of the continental United States.
For those that wish to help with this expedition, I ask you to make a contribution. The trip would not be possible or sustainable without your help. After Chiva and my daily living expenses are covered (calorie intake, a roof during inclement weather, laundry, etc.), all remaining funds will go to charity. Please email me if you have any concerns as to where your donation is going: davidandchiva@gmail.com.
Also, check out my blog often since I'll be posting to it frequently from the road: www.bikingdog.blogspot.com.
A sincere thank you to those who appreciate my mission and contribute!Yours truly,
David
